Big Media Moments for Hemi
The Block was the first to report on Hemi’s $15M growth round, led by YZi Labs (formerly Binance Labs), Republic Digital, and HyperChain Capital, with participation from Breyer Capital, Big Brain Holdings, Crypto.com, DNA Fund, Selini Capital, Protein Capital, Quantstamp, and Web3.com, among others.
The funding arrives as more developers look to bridge Bitcoin’s $2.1 trillion network to higher-throughput, smart-contract rails without diluting its security model. Hemi’s pitch is that it can deliver EVM-level programmability while anchoring finality to Bitcoin, a design it argues will help unlock institutional-grade applications on the world’s largest blockchain.
CoinDesk also reported on the news.
Hemi’s growth reflects a border wave of Bitcoin DeFi projects seeking to mobilize BTC’s $2.3 trillion market cap.

Early on, our main engineering focus was to solve the hard technical problems to prove that a decentralized payment system could work. Today’s adoption scale has certainly exceeded the expectations many of us had in those days. Satoshi would be pleased to see Bitcoin secure, global, and resilient.
