Staking Success, Important Rewards Update, Mainnet Prep & More!

Pre-mainnet Staking Pulls in More Than $175 million

Staking on Hemi kicked off with an overwhelming success, surpassing $175 million in total staked assets in just 72 hours. Staked assets are accumulating points for the Hemi Mainnet rewards season.

UPDATE: Claim Your Testnet Season Rewards

With the change of seasons comes new opportunities for rewards! During the Testnet Season, we saw over 100,000 biometrically verified users participate in rewards, validated with non-invasive, privacy-preserving Demos verification.

Before we head into Mainnet Season, we’d like to remind users to add their PoP wallets to Absinthe. This must be carried out prior to the 11:59 PM ET deadline on Sunday, March 9, to be credited properly. (Updated from March 7, 11:59 PM ET.)

Missing the deadline will result in lost points.

Check often for new tasks and updated point allocations!

The Best Way to Prepare for March 12

The Hemi team has published a comprehensive guide to make sure that its community is ready for mainnet — everything from wallet setup to the protocols and services that will be ready on Day One.

Hemi x Eisen

Hemi is working with Eisen to integrate advanced DEX aggregation technology, creating a more seamless and efficient trading experience for crypto users. This collaboration brings together Hemi’s infrastructure with Eisen’s aggregation capabilities, expanding access to optimized trading routes across multiple blockchains.

Hemi x Sumer

Get ready for amplified yield opportunities! Together, Hemi and Sumer offer users synthetic BTC, ETH, and USD tokens—suBTC, suETH, and suUSD—which are designed to work across Hemi’s application ecosystem. These tokens may be minted using liquid staked tokens (LSTs) or other yield-bearing tokens. This provides users an opportunity to amplify yield via recursive synthetic minting. An incentive program backed by Sumer and Hemi will incentivize Su Tokens and their relative pairs with points.

Partner Spotlight: Mint Park

Our friends at Mint Park recently launched a free-to-mint Hemi Badge on the Hemi testnet on February 27. The mint was a huge success, with an initial 5,000 mints in its first 24 hours, surging to over 18,000 during the weekend. By Monday, over 82,000 badges had been minted, with the current total standing at 93,340. We took some time to chat with the Mint Park team to learn more about their motivation to build on Hemi, why they launched the badge NFTs, and what’s brewing next.

Midweek with Max Recap

Despite a mild case of scratchy throat, Max took to the airwaves on March 4, announcing the soft launch of the Hemi mainnet for our Discord community, with a firm date of March 12 for the public launch. Anyone who participates by providing liquidity before the March 12 launch will receive credit — for now, however, the staking contract is the best place for rewards.

Hemi Community Corner

Hemi. Two networks. Two mascots!

The first of our two mascot naming contests has concluded, and we saw incredible participation with a flood of fantastic entries.

The community has chosen, and we're excited to announce the official name of our Hemi Goat mascot: MIGO!

Congratulations to Discord member @0xbuts for their winning entry. MIGO is now officially part of the Hemi family.

Get ready for round two! We're launching our second mascot naming contest this week. Keep an eye on the Hemi Discord for all the details and your opportunity to help us name our second Community mascot.

Slide into Hemi DMs

In this new feature, we offer an inside look into the team. Sometimes strictly mission-focused. Sometimes less-so. But always entertaining. This first installment features community lead Rick Laprade and head of marketing Phil “pmg” Gomes.

pmg: Hey… What’d I miss?

Rick: IDK, there’s this guy “shooting his shot” in the off-topic channel and I’m really pulling for him. Also, Koki wants to introduce a “re-education channel” like “A Clockwork Orange.” So that’s pretty neat.

pmg: Wait, what? Let’s do this one-at-a-time. coffee hasn’t kicked in yet.

Rick: yeah. Full-on flirting. Dude is an absolute legend. He’s going for it. Full support.

Him: Yeah.....he's the main person to ask for.....

Her: Incentivized testnet will end at friday midnight Utc. You'rr ready for mainnet?

Him: I'm always ready…

Her: Love the enthusiasm.

Him: You talk very professionally (heart emoji)

Her:  Cause I don't like stupid conversation.(LOL emoji)

Him: That's cool.....I'm (name).....what's your name?

Her: (name) is my real name.

Him: That's a cool name

Her: Thanks. Yours as well.

pmg: That’s kind of amazign. A friend of mine back in L.A. used to build online communities. Thing is, everything turned into a dating site no matter what he did.

Rick: This is the exact type of energy we need more of. And hemi does want people building. Be it apps, or maybe love connections. Who the hell am I to discriminate? Amiright?

pmg: “Proof-of-Date?”

Rick: Is this something we can ask Max to develop? Like decentralized dating apps? I’d like to also community manage that, tbh.

pmg: I once had a girlfriend who had a decentralized approach to dating. I would have rather it’d have been, uh, more centralized? But I get your point.

Rick: I feel that. Maybe it’s like mining. But for love. We’re just gonna glaze over the re-education channel thing then? Lol noted.

pmg: nonono… Get back to that. I’m a Kubrick fan.

Rick: ok…so I think it was either hadu or anubis who wanted a role for users behaving badly. At first we were like “errr, i mean just kick/warn/timeout/or ban”, but what he meant was users who are kinda just a pain in the a** and being super negative for like no reason (like, no reason to do any of those things). So we got to thinking…new role…”Hemiroid.” Basically, if you get that role you get dropped into a read only channel where you can’t respond, but only read a combo of Hemi related content and also HR work videos from the 1980s, cause at this point, why not?). It was just gonna be a role and a mute, but when Koki said “re-education channel”, well, the rest kinda just came together.

pmg: okay, two things. 1) If “hemiroid” is not a role by Tuesday, you have to do 50 pushups on your face during an all-hands Zoom call. 2) At least one video has to feature this classic. (“Re-education” indeed.)

Rick: Noted. We’ll have that and the other roles rolled out by mainnet. I already starting downloading really weird HR videos from the 80s’. If I had to watch these I’d change my entire life. I’ll include that video as well, but it’s really entertaining and people might start acting up JUST to watch that. I’m talking like this kinda nonsense.

pmg: That “Terrible” Terry Tate didn’t become a post-COVID “office linebacker” making house (office) calls is a stain on Reebok’s marketing team. Also… Don’t knock Jewel grocery stores.

Rick: Can we hire him for mainnet? I don’t know in what capacity. OH! FYI, the community voted (in record turnout…because of course they did) for the intern to have an ama in Discord. He doesn’t “have a headset” even though he’s literally on Zoom calls with us twice a week, so it’s gonna be text based for like 45 minutes. So that’s the new fresh hell on my radar for next week.
