In a recent Cointelegraph article, Hemi Co-Founder Max Sanchez weighed in on the evolving landscape of Bitcoin Layer-2s, highlighting how the space is shifting from speculation to substance. While some early narratives have fizzled out, Max emphasized the importance of interoperability and purpose-built infrastructure to truly extend Bitcoin’s capabilities.

The latest Midweek with Max session kicked off with the first (regular-episode) ecosystem partner showcases: Oku, a decentralized exchange aggregator, and Artura, a DeFi super-app offering leveraged trading. 

The team provided important updates on Hemi’s Mainnet launch, such as increased activity, liquidity deployment, and finalized points tracking. Max also discussed decentralization efforts, technical improvements, and upcoming events, while reminding the community about PoP mining rewards and the need to monitor Bitcoin transaction fees.

For those of you who haven’t been able to keep up with the activity in our Discord, here’s a quick recap.

The first batch of poses — eighteen total — are available in five different skin tones.

Congrats to Discord user foxstar, a longtime community member and moderator, for winning the naming contest. He earned the Community Creative Role and some well-deserved Discord XP. At this point, he’s collecting roles like Thanos collects Infinity Stones.

We had a special AMA with @ThatHemiIntern, which (after a brief X exile) turned into an impromptu MwM session.

Then came a major surprise. Hemi Co-Founder Jeff Garzik issued a challenge: create a meme coin on Hemi. In just nine minutes, Pavlo Partola delivered, launching the MAX coin and crushing the contest.
